Mothers Day Card

Mothers day is always a great time to bring out the floral stamps. This one from stampin up called Stippled Blossoms is my favourite at the moment. Sentiment on the front is printed out from MDS,
Inside it is a pop up card using the teacup from the Tea Shoppe set. Small butterflies are from Papillion potpourri.
Ink is rose red stamped off twice to give the pale shade then full strength for the darker shades.

Close up of the card. Next time I will pop the front roses up on dimensionals to give some depth
Side of card showing the simple pop up mechanism. I scored the outside card leaving a 1/16th gap in the middle to make folding over the inside card easier.

Paper Roses

The family often want me to help them whip up crafty things and one of my sons wanted to surprise his wife with a traditional gift for their first wedding anniversary. Paper. These are the dozen paper roses we created.
made from 5 layers of paper cut into petals and glued into a rose shape. Tutorial was on the net.  We used an old romance novel and painted the pages in a red wash.
Flowers are pushed onto a wire and stem wrapped in florist tape.

Cute Baby cards

This is a really cute idea for a baby card. A bonnet that pivots open with the split pin holding the flower in the corner. Flower is a bit large but was what I had at hand.

These second baby cards using the SU onesie roller  stamp and each onesie cut out and mounted on foam.

Cards for men

I needed some thankyou cards for men, wanted to steer away from flowers, ribbon and frills so used the sizzix windmill die to create the first card and used my new favourite set Feeling Sentimental for the second card. This card is cased from a Nancy Hill creation seen on Pinterest. The penny farthing stamp has the honey comb embossing folder background and sponged edges in dark brown. Will use this style to make cards similar with the other two stamps in this set.

Stippled Blossoms

My daughter convinced me to get this SU 2 step stamp set. I wasn't convinced I liked it until I started stamping with it. It makes beautiful cards, this first one I got a bit carried away stamping everything but the second card inspired by a card I saw on pinterest and it was perfect to give to an elderly volunteer I know.

Welcome to my fresh new blog all about papercrafts. mainly cards but love mini albums and 3D projects.
My old blog was cluttered with a variety of my interests so decided to start afresh with a blog just for papercrafts. Will still put baking and fabric crafts on my Papercatscrafts blog.

Our two cats Rocky and Cocoa supervise the crafty activity. Anything with wool is fair game in their eyes.
This Cocoa the oriental. he kept a close eye on the Christmas tree and in the morning would find decorations scattered around the living room
